Professional experience spotlight | Robert James | Published October 8, 2026

AI-assisted drafts can read smoothly while leaving unsupported claims, vague answers, or technical errors for a senior reviewer to resolve. Across more than 1.5 million words of cumulative professional work, I have reviewed, edited, fact-checked, optimized, or otherwise QA'd AI-assisted content for clients in several industries.

Project type: Professional experience portfolio across clients

Volume: 1.5M+ words reviewed, edited, fact-checked, optimized, or QA'd

Sectors: Health, finance, legal, SaaS, ecommerce, fitness, manufacturing, affiliate publishing

Scope note: Cumulative volume; checks vary by assignment

The review problem

Higher draft volume can leave the senior editor with more decisions rather than less work. A draft still needs to answer the search, meet the brief, preserve technical meaning, and support the claims it makes. Fluent prose does not resolve those questions.

How I separate the decisions

Routine language problems can often be fixed directly. Factual claims, quotations, firsthand-experience statements, and higher-risk health or legal content require a different response. When evidence is missing, I research further, qualify or remove the claim, or identify the decision that requires the appropriate reviewer.

What I review

My editorial work covers factual and source support, search intent, structure, clarity, terminology, and page-level SEO. I remove repetition and generic phrasing while preserving useful detail. I also check whether headings, internal links, and the page's main answer work together for its intended reader.

The professional scope

My cumulative professional volume exceeds 1.5 million words of AI-assisted content reviewed, edited, fact-checked, optimized, or otherwise QA'd across clients. The checks vary by assignment; the total describes work handled rather than a uniform audit of every word.

The editorial judgment

The review combines readability with evidence and intent. A sentence can be clear while its claim remains unsupported. A technically accurate paragraph can still miss the reader's question. I address those decisions separately, so a language edit does not stand in for factual verification.

A fit for recurring review

This experience is relevant to teams that need a senior reviewer for a steady flow of AI-assisted drafts. A sample and client requirements help define the scope: what I can correct directly, what needs source checks, and which decisions require a specialist or client response.

Discuss a similar project

If your team has more drafts than its senior reviewers can comfortably approve, send a sample and your client requirements. I can assess the review scope and identify what needs correction or closer verification.
